Job Title: Academic SEN Leader

Location: Wandsworth, London

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (MPS/UPS + SEN Points)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator to lead the provision for students with Special Educational Needs at Academics. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that each child receives high-quality support.

About the Role:

  • Lead and manage the SEN provision within the school, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to adapt the curriculum and provide targeted interventions for students with SEN.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the needs of students with diverse learning requirements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture, promoting social-emotional learning and well-being among students and staff.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to secure additional resources and support for students with complex needs.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the SEN team, ensuring effective communication and coordination across departments.

About You:

  • You hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a SENCO qualification, with a proven track record of working with students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with experience in managing teams and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • A passionate commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs, with a strong understanding of SEN legislation and policies.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build rapport with parents, carers, and other stakeholders.
