HGV Class 1 Driver Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team at 24-7 Recruitment Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering chilled goods to various locations in the Cullompton, Devon area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate an HGV Class 1 delivery vehicle
  • Load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securing of items
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries
  • Complete necessary paperwork and logbooks accurately
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license with appropriate category for operating a Class 1 vehicle
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with experience driving an HGV vehicle
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
  • Ability to navigate using GPS or maps to locate delivery addresses
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers
