HGV Class 1 Driver Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join our team at 24-7 Recruitment Services. As a HGV Class 1 driver, you will be responsible for delivering chilled goods to various locations in the Cullompton, Devon area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely Operate HGV Class 1 Vehicle: Ensure the safe operation of the HGV Class 1 delivery vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and Unload Goods: Load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
  • Plan Efficient Routes: Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, minimizing delays and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Complete Paperwork: Complete necessary paperwork and logbooks accurately, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
  • Perform Vehicle Inspections: Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License: Hold a valid driver's license with the appropriate category for operating a Class 1 vehicle.
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with experience driving an HGV vehicle.
  • Strong Knowledge: Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations, as well as the ability to navigate using GPS or maps to locate delivery addresses.
  • Good Communication Skills: Possess good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers.
