Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Satellite Communications Engineer to join our team at Telesat. As a key member of our Global Sales Engineering Group, you will be responsible for providing technical support for pre- and post-sales activities of our product lines and technical consultation to the Global Sales groups.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our revolutionary Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network, Lightspeed, which will revolutionize global broadband connectivity for enterprise users. You will be responsible for designing, estimating cost, and proposing Lightspeed communications solutions based on customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and propose Lightspeed communications solutions based on customer requirements
  • Work directly with the Global Sales Team and prospective customers' Engineering contacts to validate requirements and technical details
  • Prepare and present proposals to, and review requirements directly with customers
  • Lead, attend, and actively participate in customer meetings
  • Identify new solutions within Telesat's Lightspeed product portfolio which could lead to new revenue opportunities with customers
  • Work directly with customers to plan upgrades, review performance of networks, and to resolve service issues
  • Collaborate with Telesat's Marketing and Product teams to identify available network capacity
  • Support projects from design to implementation
  • Update and maintain multiple databases as well as other Engineering information management systems
