About the Role

We are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join our team at Jubilee School, part of Acorn Education. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of planning and delivering effective English lessons, ensuring pupils make good progress from their starting points.

The ideal candidate will be an exemplary classroom practitioner with high expectations of self and others, passionate about encouraging all pupils to achieve success. They will have excellent classroom management skills, teach with an enthusiastic and nurturing approach, and have high expectations of learning.

The successful candidate will also have experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour, either as a result of ASD or SEMH needs. They will be able to contribute to the wider curriculum of the school through sports, arts, music, drama, and other enrichment activities.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching and learning, and who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of our pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning
    • Plan and deliver engaging and motivating lessons informed by well-grounded expectations of learners and designed to raise levels of attainment.
    • Know how to make effective personalised provision/effectively provide differentiated tasks for those they teach.
    • Have high expectations of young people including a commitment to ensuring that they can achieve their full educational potential and to establishing fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with them.
    • Use assessment as part of their teaching to diagnose learners' needs, set realistic and challenging targets for improvement, and plan future teaching.
  • Classroom Management
    • Create a purposeful learning environment.
    • Teach engaging and motivating lessons informed by well-grounded expectations of learners and designed to raise levels of attainment.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and carers to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies.
