About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Immunology Consultant to join our dynamic team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality specialist services for patients with allergic and immunological disorders.

Job Summary

This is a full-time post (10PA) that involves working at St James's University Teaching Hospital, with responsibilities including outpatient and laboratory duties, as well as contributing to the Allergy & Immunology on-call rota. The successful candidate will work closely with our existing team, comprising Dr Sinisa Savic, Dr Anoop Mistry, Dr Claire Stockdale (Locum Consultant), and Dr Mark Kacar (Locum Consultant), to provide specialist services for over 3 million people in West, North, and large parts of East Yorkshire, with a supra-regional service for systemic autoinflammatory disorders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Sustain the current capacity of the service for clinical allergy and immunology work, with a view to expansion following further development of nursing clinics and review of patient throughput.
  • Ensure the smooth flow from diagnosis to treatment & follow-up.
  • Support development of Allergy & Immunology Service.

The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop innovative ways of working to sustain increasing patient load, contribute to the Immunology & Allergy on-call rota, and ensure optimal delivery of diagnostic laboratory support in line with standards from clinical pathology accreditation and the planned developments of the Yorkshire diagnostic laboratory network.

Person Specification

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess:

  • MB BS or equivalent qualification, MRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Certificate of completion of Specialist training in Immunology FRCPath or equivalent.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK, up-to-date and fit to practise safely.
  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice and entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT or CESR.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £85,000 - £105,000 per annum, plus benefits.
