About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Energy Planning and Strategy Manager to join our team in the South West region. As a key member of our regional team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our regional energy strategy, working closely with stakeholders and internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of our plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement regional energy strategy, working closely with stakeholders and internal teams
  • Lead on specific energy aspects of the whole energy system, including renewables, heat decarbonisation, hydrogen, energy networks, transport, and flexibility
  • Engage with key regional stakeholders, including local government, gas and electricity networks, and other local actors
  • Represent NESO's regional energy planning function at strategic level and deputise for the regional manager
  • Design, support, and run workshops and engagement activity with the Regional Board, working groups, and other regional stakeholders
  • Produce and deliver clear, concise, short reports and slide packs in progressing the RESP
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in energy planning and strategy, with experience in the energy sector, including technical energy knowledge. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex and technical information into easily understandable messaging for non-technical audiences.
