Oncology/Haematology Pharmacist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join our team at a leading NHS Hospital in West London. As a Specialist Pharmacist in Oncology/Haematology, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality clinical pharmacy service to patients with cancer.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Screen Oncology and Haematology prescriptions for the Chemotherapy day unit and Haematology day unit.
  2. Assist in providing a ward-based and day care specialist pharmacy cancer service to haematology and oncology cancer patients.
  3. Develop, provide, manage, and monitor a safe and effective clinical pharmacy service to haematology and oncology cancer patients.
  4. Provide highly specialist pharmaceutical input to these patients, working with the multidisciplinary team.
  5. Participate in risk management by actively mitigating medication errors in the service.
  6. Support providing supervision, support, and clinical training for pharmacy colleagues and other healthcare professionals around medicines management for cancer services.
  7. Communicate complex drug or medicine-related information to patients & relatives in prescription medication counselling, drug history taking, and reviewing prescriptions.
  8. Communicate with medical and nursing staff regarding medicine management issues, requiring persuasive skills against evidence-based medicine/formulary guidelines.
Working Arrangements:
  1. Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm, 1 hour lunch.
  2. £27-37 per hour (depending on experience).
  3. NHS Hospital.
