Job Overview

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work as a skilled Occupational Therapist in a Community Mental Health Team with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality care services.

The successful candidate will have expertise in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating Occupational Therapy interventions in secondary care and community settings. They will also provide leadership through supervision, induction, training, and education of junior staff and students.

We offer a competitive salary of £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, along with a range of benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply specialist knowledge of Occupational Therapy across a range of procedures.
  • Assume professional autonomy, responsibility, and accountability to implement Occupational Therapy.
  • Gather information from a wide range of sources and analyze through observational interview and individual discussion.
  • Select, develop, and initiate individual occupational therapy interventions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the ongoing effectiveness of the occupational therapy intervention plan.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualification in Occupational Therapy at degree level or equivalent.
  • Professional registration as awarded by the Health & Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
  • Evidence of recent learning and continued professional development at a higher level.
  • Experience working in a mental health setting.
  • Planning and prioritization of workload.
  • Ability to support and supervise others.
  • Knowledge of current healthcare policies and application.
