Are you looking for a career that offers variety, challenge, and opportunities for growth? As a Forklift Mechanic and Powered Access Engineer with the Briggs Equipment Group, you will have the chance to develop your skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Our 4-year Apprentice Engineer training programme is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in this role. You will complete a Level 7 Modern Apprenticeship Diploma in Lift truck Maintenance and Repair Competence (SCQF) and gain hands-on experience through shadowing your mentor and other Engineers, progressing to working independently.

Responsibilities
  • Fault finding, maintaining, servicing, and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems within our range of Materials Handling and Powered Access Equipment.
  • Working on customer premises and at Briggs Equipment Group workshop locations within your specified region.

Upon successful completion of the 4-year programme, you will be considered for a permanent contract as a fully qualified Engineer with a salary expectation of £25,000 per annum.

Requirements
  • A strong passion for engineering, particularly mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Good understanding of health and safety principles.
  • Excellent IT skills, including email, websites, and text documents.
  • Ability to manage your workload effectively, meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of good customer service principles.
  • Problem-solving skills and willingness to adapt.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments.
