Job Overview

The Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (ANNP) role at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a high degree of autonomy and complex decision-making. Main Duties

The ANNP will be responsible for:

  • Providing advanced nursing care to critically ill newborns, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Working closely with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients
  • Developing and implementing care plans for newborns with complex medical needs
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication
  • Providing education and support to families and healthcare staff on neonatal care and management

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registration as a nurse with a valid NMC PIN
  • Qualification in neonatal speciality
  • ANNP qualification or Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Registered non-medical prescriber
  • Experience in neonatal care and management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
