Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Ward Manager to lead the Chil/ESCU ward at Worthing Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of the ward and the Enhanced Surgical Care Unit, ensuring high-quality patient care and a safe working environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and achieve excellent patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based practice within the designated clinical area of expertise.
  • Ensure a supportive teaching and learning environment is in place for staff development and education.
  • Manage the ward budget and resources effectively, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of ward policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with Trust objectives.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to staff on clinical and professional matters.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of quality improvement projects.

Person Specification
  • RGN 1st Level with NMC registration.
  • Leadership experience, with a proven track record of leading a team.
  • Ability to develop and implement evidence-based practice within a designated clinical area of expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage resources effectively, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Knowledge of Trust policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
