About the Role

Newton Place Surgery is seeking a highly skilled Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based diabetes care to patients with complex needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Initiate and support insulin management and/or other injectables for complex type 1 and 2 diabetic patients.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Liaise with administration staff to ensure the smooth running of clinics and accurate record-keeping.
  • Maintain accurate data and records using EMIS and other software.
  • Act as a specialist resource and provide specialist advice in relation to diabetes.

Newton Place Surgery is a vibrant, purpose-built surgery with a great family feel. We offer a range of additional on-site services, including ultrasound, audiology, physiotherapy, and minor surgery. We are also a training practice and host students and junior doctors.

Person Specification

  • Post-registration experience as a qualified nurse.
  • Extensive knowledge of diabetes, preferably in a Diabetes Specialist Nurse or practice nurse role.
  • Level 1 NMC Adult Registered Nurse qualification.
  • Relevant post-registration qualification and Diabetes Diploma/Certificate.
