Property Stores Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Property Stores Assistant at Gwent Police, located at the Cwmbran Police Station. This exciting new role involves working closely with the EPU Lead to ensure the efficient management of evidential property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the retention or disposal of evidential property in accordance with force policy and legislation.
  • Audit evidential property to identify items for central disposal or return to owners.
  • Collate items for central disposal or sale via eBay or Wilson's Auction.
  • Highlight exhibits incorrectly packaged for action by the EPU Lead.
  • Comply with force operating procedures for equipment operation and report incidents to the Property Project Co-Ordinator.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five grade A-C GCSE's or equivalent minimum standards.
  • Previous experience in a secure stores environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of the criminal justice process and continuity of court exhibits.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good knowledge of stores administration, procedures, and practices.

Other Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to travel independently to given locations within and outside the Force area.
  • Physical fitness to lift and carry heavy items up to 15 kilos in weight.
