The Corporate Sector Coverage team operates within the Sectors organisation at ING Wholesale Banking. Our client base includes FTSE100-250 corporates with primarily European footprints across various sectors. We're responsible for originating, coordinating, and executing corporate banking services or investment banking propositions for clients, working across ING's international network and in close alignment with product partners.

We're looking for an experienced corporate banker at Director level to join our well-established London-based CSC team. The ideal candidate has a track record of working for major investment/wholesale banks, with 10+ years client coverage experience and seasoned influencing skills, and existing relationships in the TMT and/or Healthcare sectors.

The successful candidate will have the capability, experience, and gravitas to engage with clients at the Group Treasury and C-suite level, acting as deal team leader on selected transactions as required, and coordinate with other stakeholders to contribute effectively to the growth strategy for the CSC team and the UK region.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop existing business relationships by enhancing product and geographical coverage.
  • Identify and originate new business opportunities with prospective clients in line with the bank's growth strategy and risk appetite.
  • Monitor developments and opportunities within the UK TMT & Healthcare sector, in close coordination with sub-sector leads.
  • Contribute to ING strategic initiatives and continuously build knowledge on the market, competitors, products.
  • Market ING's products and services as the bank's representative to clients and prospects up to C-suite level.
  • Originate, lead, negotiate, and close new transactions in close cooperation with product specialists.
  • Coordinate presentation material and pitches to clients, providing direction and leadership to deal teams.
  • Act as the first point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders across products and network countries.
  • Develop strategic client account plans, considering client needs, business potential, and risk allocation.
  • Help achieve team income, fee, cross-buy, ESG, and return targets, and achieve other financial/non-financial KPIs.
  • Ensure credit quality, KYC validity, and regulatory requirements of the portfolio.
