Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Data Engineer to join our client's team and contribute to the development of their Golden Source data platform using Microsoft Fabric.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, build, support, and develop the client's Golden Source data platform.
  2. Ingest data using shortcuts, pipelines, or dataflows to support Power BI and AI analytical use cases.
  3. Establish curated and semantic layers within the Golden Source data platform, aligned to company Data Architecture and using Microsoft Fabric capabilities.
  4. Contribute to all stages of the data platform lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and delivery phases, in line with agreed architecture and design standards.
  5. Optimise table design, data models, and semantic models for onward data consumption by content creators across the organisation.
  6. Ingest third-party data using Microsoft Fabric capabilities and prepare it for standalone and combined analysis with other company data sets.
  7. Ensure the data platform delivers to non-functional requirements.
  8. Perform performance optimisation and troubleshooting of data technologies.
  9. Curate an unstructured data ecosystem within Microsoft Fabric tools.
  10. Champion Cloud Operations & DevOps principles, approaches, and best practices.

    Requirements:

    1. Experience working in a team, building, and supporting data platforms with Microsoft technologies.
    2. Technical skills with some of the following technologies: Data Factory, Data Activator, Synapse Data Engineering, Synapse Data Warehouse, Python, One Lake.
    3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud.
    4. Good knowledge of data management principles, including data modelling, data integration, ETL processes, data governance, and data security.
    5. Experience building data platform components to support a business need.
    6. Strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to manage several workstreams simultaneously, balancing business priorities and quality.
    7. Experience of working within an Agile working environment.

    1. Flexible benefit payment equivalent to 10% of salary.
