Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team at HMP Dovegate, a category B Prison located in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising pharmacy technicians, overseeing the administration and medicines management, and providing health promotion advice to our patients.

You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality patient-centered care, ensuring that our patients receive safe and effective medicines management services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and develop junior pharmacy staff
  • Oversee the administration and medicines management across our primary care and substance misuse wings
  • Provide health promotion advice to patients on topics such as smoking cessation, hypertension, and healthy living

Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 or above, or equivalent
  • Accuracy Checking Technician qualification
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up-to-date Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
