CNC Turning Machine Programmer/Setter/Operator

We are seeking an experienced CNC Turning Machine Programmer/Setter/Operator to join our team at Workforce Staffing Ltd.

About the Role:

As a CNC Turning Machine Programmer/Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating fixed head machines. You will interpret drawings and 3D digital files, produce prototypes and small production runs, and carry out inspection of your work using CMMs and gauges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming, setting, and operating fixed head machines
  • Interpretation of drawings and 3D digital files
  • Produce prototypes/small production runs
  • Carry out inspection of your work (CMM and Manual)
  • Maintain clean and tidy stations
  • Produce work of a high standard by adhering to quality standards
  • Training other members of the Turning section in programming and setting machines
  • Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues to promote successful teamwork

Requirements:

  • Relevant Engineering Qualification
  • Ideal experience in a precision machining company
  • Competent in Fanuc controls and programming
  • Strong understanding of Fanuc programs with ability to edit, re-run tools etc.
  • Able to move offsets
  • Able to prove unproven programs, safely
  • Competent in inspecting own work using CMMs and gauges to verify product quality
  • Conversant with Lynx and Doosan machinery (essential)
  • Conversant with STAR Sliding Head Lathe (preferable)
  • CAM experience (preferable)
  • Multi-axis and sub-spindle
  • Working to tight tolerances
  • Experience of working with a wide range of materials
  • Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail
  • Team Player
  • Flexible
