Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust as a Pharmacy Service Delivery Lead. As a key member of our Professional Development team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services across our three sites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and facilitating the Pharmacy undergraduate placement program, working closely with external and internal stakeholders to ensure criteria are met. This includes liaising with De Montfort University and the University of Leicester to ensure curriculum requirements are met.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Pharmacy Technician with excellent leadership skills to lead our Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician program. You will be responsible for acting as educational supervisor and facilitating rotations throughout the training period.

The salary for this position is approximately £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • To manage and facilitate the Pharmacy undergraduate placement program, to liaise with external and internal stakeholders to ensure criteria is met.
  • To support the delivery of training and assessing the competency of Pre-registration Pharmacy technicians and where appropriate, Pharmacy technicians, trainee Pharmacists and Pharmacists, in conjunction with the pharmacy professional development team.
  • Plan ongoing training and assessment in technical pharmacy procedures of all staff, including rotational staff ensuring staff are competent and confident in delivering pharmacy services within their defined area, and that performance of those staff is managed and maximised.
