Product Design Placement Student

Job Summary
CPI is seeking a highly motivated and talented Placement Student to join our Product Design team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. The successful candidate will assist in the design, development, prototyping, and testing of products and processes for a wide range of applications, particularly in medical technologies, healthcare, and life sciences markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist team members with research, design, prototyping, and testing of electro-mechanical devices.
- Become an expert on various forms of additive manufacturing, including design, operation, and maintenance of such systems.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of the product development process and key aspects involved in developing highly regulated products, such as medical devices.
- Develop new and innovative manufacturing processes or demonstration devices to expand CPI's offering to new and existing clients.
Requirements
- Currently studying towards an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product or Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Experience in using 3D CAD software and rapid prototyping techniques, such as 3D printing.
- Interest in the field of medical devices and technologies.
- Some knowledge and experience in designing products that contain electronics.
