Job Summary

The Procurement Assistant will provide professional support to the Category Managers in delivering the procurement function, ensuring Best Value through the implementation of best practice across the service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing a professional service across a range of category areas (goods, services, and works)
  • Support the Category Managers in the delivery of the procurement function
  • Implement best practice across the service to ensure Best Value
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers
Requirements
  • SQA Higher level qualification relevant to the role, or relevant working experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
Working Arrangements

The successful candidate will be required to work full-time, Monday to Friday, with a requirement for Management Vetting.

Applicants must be a British citizen, a member of the EU or other states in the EEA, a Commonwealth citizen or a foreign national free of restrictions.

Residency in the UK for a minimum of five years immediately prior to application is required.
