Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil and Structural Engineering Manager to lead our Port and Marine team in Newcastle. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in civil and structural engineering, with a focus on marine projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, preparation, and successful completion of deliverables for marine projects
  • Review and check technical specifications, reports, and technical notes to a high standard
  • Mentor and support staff to achieve technical solutions and develop their knowledge and experience
  • Communicate and liaise with other disciplines and clients to ensure clear understanding of scope and deliverables
  • Design structures in the marine environment, including quay walls, piers, jetties, revetment, breakwaters, fendering, scour protection, linkspan supports, dolphins, etc.
  • Work with public and private clients, lead teams, and establish work streams on existing and new contracts
  • Have a good understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes, and best practice in the maritime environment
  • Experience in delivering projects over a range of cost and complexity
  • Work in multi-disciplinary teams and have experience in the UK Maritime industry

Requirements

  • CEng / IEng qualified in civil or structural engineering, or anticipating achieving this status imminently
  • Ability to obtain SC Clearance
