As an IT Support Apprentice, you will gain valuable skills and contribute to maintaining a smooth, secure, and efficient technology experience for all. You will be responsible for:

  • IT Helpdesk Management: Maintain our helpdesk by keeping tickets up-to-date, prioritizing tasks, and supporting escalations when needed.
  • Asset Management: Support auditing, replacement, and relocation of IT equipment for efficient asset management.
  • User Support: Assist users with wireless setup, access points, and various web-based and end-user applications.
  • Documentation Creation: Help create, maintain, and distribute documentation for stakeholders, ensuring everyone has the information they need.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Perform regular room checks, and maintain printers, audio-visual solutions, CCTV, and other peripherals.
  • Software & Security: Install, update, and troubleshoot hardware/software; manage passwords, permissions, and anti-virus solutions.
  • System Monitoring & Automation: Support monitoring and alert systems, assisting in action where necessary; use scripting to automate tasks for efficiency.
  • Policy Support: Assist in adherence to school policies around safeguarding, GDPR, and health and safety.

Desired Skills, Qualities, and Experience:

  • Passion for IT: A genuine interest in IT and technology, eager to learn and develop skills across various IT systems.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Able to communicate effectively with users, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Attention to Detail: Careful and meticulous approach to asset management, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Qualifications: A Grade 5/C in English and a Grade 4/C in Maths are required.

Benefits:

  • Salary: £12,313 per annum
  • Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8am to 4pm, Friday: 8am to 3:30pm
  • Holidays: 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays
