Job DescriptionAs a Flight Checker with DO & CO Airline Catering, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of prepared meals for all classes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Quality Control: Conduct thorough checks on prepared meals to ensure they meet specifications and comply with menu cards.
- Special Requests: Handle requests for special meals or last-minute changes, ensuring that all requirements are met.
- Discrepancy Reporting: Report any discrepancies in labeling or paperwork to the Shift Manager.
- Final Quality Checks: Perform final quality and quantity checks on packed flights to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Physical Demands: Work in a chilled environment, lifting, bending, and stretching as required.
- Initiative and Communication: Work independently, taking initiative to resolve problems and communicate effectively with team members and managers.
- Hourly Updates: Provide regular, hourly status updates to managers on tasks and progress.
- Diverse Assignments: Work on different customer assignments each day, requiring adaptability and flexibility.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain excellent working relationships with department heads and other team members, ensuring a positive and professional service.
- Health and Safety: Carry out all procedures in a safe manner, adhering to Health and Safety responsibilities.
Requirements
- Chilled Environment: Ability to work in a chilled environment.
- Basic Hygiene: Working knowledge of basic hygiene practices.
- Production Experience: Ideally, some experience in a production, manufacturing, or stores environment.
- Numerical and Checking Skills: Basic numerical and checking skills are essential for this role.
- Communication: Basic written and verbal English skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Pressure Management: Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and take initiative to resolve problems.
- Physical Skills: Physical skills such as movement, coordination, and dexterity.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
- Food Safety: Basic understanding of food safety, with a willingness to attend training to achieve Level 2 Food Safety certification.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and data-driven approach.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and other departments.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in a similar role or experience within the fresh food industry.
- Reporting Skills: Excellent working knowledge of reporting and data analysis.
