HGV Workshop Supervisor Opportunity

Kemp Recruitment is seeking an experienced and qualified HGV Workshop Supervisor to join our client's team in Coventry. As a key member of the depot team, you will be responsible for leading the repair and maintenance of an internal fleet of circa 70 commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the required repairs forward from a Vehicle Order Report (VOR) and inspections list to increase and maintain vehicle availability
  • Balance workshop administration and staff direction (10%) with contributing to vehicle maintenance (90%), including servicing, inspections, defect repairs, MOT preparations, and other work requested by the Workshop Manager

HGV Workshop Supervisor Duties:

  • Work on an in-house fleet of circa 70 commercial vehicles, including tractor units, trailers, skip loaders, and front loaders
  • Undertake all aspects of vehicle service and maintenance in a well-equipped workshop
  • Correct running defects, perform full vehicle overhauls, diagnose issues, and undertake inspections and pre-MOT checks

Requirements:

  • Experience of leading small teams or shows an aptitude for moving into this type of role with some guidance
  • Industry-recognised qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds) or be time-served
  • Detailed experience as an HGV Technician and familiarity with modern commercial vehicles
  • IRTEC trained would be beneficial but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence
