Job Summary

Stirling Dynamics is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead and manage projects across various business units. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of projects, including planning, monitoring, and controlling project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Develop and maintain project management plans, including project schedules, budgets, and tracking registers.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, and ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and project management procedures.
  • Manage project resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project team members, customers, and suppliers, and ensure that project issues and risks are escalated and managed appropriately.
  • Manage project financial data, including budget updates, estimates at completion, and customer invoicing and profiling.
  • Participate in business unit resource levelling and ensure that project demand is accurately represented in the business forecasting system.

Requirements

  • Degree or similar qualification in an engineering, science, technology, mathematics, or related discipline.
  • Recognised project management training and qualification.
  • Ability to lead teams in challenging technical environments.
  • Financially astute, able to create and manage project budgets, maintain profit margin, and deliver returns.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident in prioritisation and managing concurrent workstreams.
  • Ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive and assertive nature with the motivation to succeed.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Desirable

  • Experience within aerospace, marine, or defence engineering environment.
  • Experience of project management in an engineering organisation.
  • Experience of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as MS NAV/Dynamics.
