The Engineering Manager will lead our clients Engineering department and be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining our Engineering Systems. This role will drive product and systems conformance, ensuring compliance with AS9100 and Sabre4 standards.

The successful candidate will directly manage and lead the Engineering team, comprising CAD/CAM development engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and NPI Engineers. They will be responsible for delivering engineered systems to manufacturing in compliance with identified requirements, including producibility, productivity, cost, schedule, regulatory, customer and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the development and introduction of new products in a profitable and efficient manner, on time to project parameters.
  2. Work with customers to liaise on engineering aspects for products, including creating Non-Conformance to drawing approval requests.
  3. Manage a team of CAD/CAM and manufacturing engineers to manage new and existing products onto the shopfloor.
  4. Work with facilities management to ensure CNC systems are suitable and able to produce parts RFT.
  5. Generate and implement plans for out-of-hours running on specific CNC systems.
  6. Ensure all activities are exercised in accordance with company policy and procedure.

Requirements:

  1. Technical expertise in Design & Manufacturing Engineering, with a relevant professional qualification (BSc, BEng, MSc) in Engineering.
  2. Strong drawing understanding (GD&T, special processes, coating).
  3. Significant experience in Engineering and demonstrated ability in a leadership position with evidence of delivering significant improvements in terms of cost/quality of engineering systems.
  4. Strong interpersonal and relationship building abilities.
  5. Familiarity with CNC systems – 3/4/5 axis Milling, Turning and Grinding.
  6. Agile Methodologies.
  7. Solid understanding of industrial Aerospace manufacturing systems and processes, including treatments and the characteristics of varied raw materials.
  8. Knowledge of Solidworks/SolidCAM (CAD/CAM), Vericut.
  9. Knowledge of robotics and lights out methodologies for machining.
  10. Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9001, AS9100 into a Quality Management System (QMS), Aerospace Regulations.
  11. Understanding of Project Management processes and systems.
