Primary Teacher

The role of Primary Teacher at New Barn School is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our students. As a key member of our teaching team, you will be responsible for leading the teaching of and coordinating flexible, person-centred programmes of study for individuals and groups of pupils.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching a varied range of subjects to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health complexities
- Preparing, planning and assessing teaching sessions while maintaining an awareness of curriculum developments
- Writing and implementing individual education plans, making assessments of educational attainment and setting challenging yet achievable targets
- Building relationships with all students, which will encourage their interest and participation in their education
- Creating an environment that is stimulating and purposeful for all pupils to promote teaching and learning outside the formal classroom settings
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status
- Have a background of teaching a range of subjects at Primary Level, delivering teaching at a good or outstanding level
- Knowledge of current education issues in relation to terms of practice, process and curriculum
- Be experienced in working within an SEN setting, supporting pupils and young people with challenging behaviour (SEMH/EBD)
New Barn School offers a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum to boys and girls, aged 6–19 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health complexities.
