Governance Support Liaison

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Governance Support Officer to join our team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule meetings with Headteachers and Chairs of Governors to facilitate effective governance.
- Provide procedural and legal guidance to support the discharge of statutory responsibilities.
- Maintain a database for school governing boards to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Support and advise school governors to operate an effective and efficient governing board.
We provide a stable contracted hours environment, working with 112 East Riding maintained schools, as well as additional clients including academy schools and trusts.
Our team benefits from development opportunities, including the Clerks Development Programme, Governance in Academies programme, and NGA Learning.
We offer a flexible working week of 18.5 hours, Tuesday to Thursday, with occasional evening meetings depending on school allocations.
As a Governance Support Officer, you will be based at County Hall Beverley, but will need to travel extensively across the East Riding to meet with schools and governors.
We are looking for someone with excellent organizational and time management skills, good communication and listening skills, and the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of our schools and governors.
