About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oil Trader Specialist to join our London desk.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the oil market, including trends, future markets, products, and clients. They will be responsible for onboarding new clients, assessing their needs and financial conditions, and identifying internal cross-selling opportunities.

The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. They will be able to exercise independent judgment and act with integrity, care, skill, and diligence to avoid conflicts of interest and escalate issues as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand the desk's business strategy and identify new business opportunities.
  • Onboard new clients following the correct process with the Client On-boarding team.
  • Assess client needs and financial conditions to identify internal cross-selling opportunities.
  • Support a risk and compliance-aware culture and comply with group policies.
  • Exercise independent judgment and act with integrity, care, skill, and diligence.
Requirements
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to break new ground in established markets.
  • Experience in commodities trading, preferably in oil.
  • Strong understanding of the asset class oil broking.
  • Exceptional client focus and delivery skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates high levels of energy in seeking out and achieving new goals.
What We Offer

Our company offers a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a bonus scheme, pension scheme, and life assurance.
