This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, overseeing the day-to-day management of stores and distribution areas and pharmacy assistants.

As a Specialist Pharmacy Assistant, you will contribute to the development and delivery of a high-quality, comprehensive Trust-wide Pharmacy Distribution service.

You will work under the direct supervision of the Lead Pharmacy Technician for Procurement, Stores and Distribution and supported by the Chief Pharmacy Technician in Operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the management of the pharmacy automated storage and retrieval system.
  • Participating in the stock replenishment service, issue, and distribution of pharmaceuticals provided to all wards, theatres, and departments.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day management of stores and distribution areas and pharmacy assistants.

Requirements include:

  • Significant experience of working in hospital pharmacy distribution services, including experience at band 3 senior assistant level.
  • Experience of ward replenishment and distribution systems.
  • Experience of liaising with members of pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure that ward stock levels are maintained at a safe and appropriate level.
  • NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services.
