Job Title: Head of Research & Insights

About Impatient Health:

Impatient Health is a catalyst for change within pharma. We connect those who believe that pharma has great untapped potential and seek to help them through events, research, and strategy consulting.

Job Description:

  1. Lead the research and insights team at Impatient Health.
  2. Support Impatient Health's strategy for original research in collaboration with company directors and the broader research team.
  3. Set and maintain the bar for quality as the leader of a team delivering world-class insights.
  4. Proactively get involved in business development, while working with sales and marketing colleagues to ensure the right strategy is growing your practice.
  5. Lead and project manage research projects, delivering insights that bring business value, alongside a great client experience.
  6. Innovate and develop our existing product offering - identifying untapped opportunities.
  7. Undertake qualitative and quantitative research and use these two sources of insight in parallel to inform and develop findings.
  8. Synthesise and communicate research insights and findings in compelling and immersive ways - innovating the ways in which we do so.
  9. Evolve our methods, tools, and techniques for research and be a support to the broader team in ensuring that our research has consistent, effective, and up-to-date methods, tools, and standards.

About You:

  1. You are a leader, able to set a strategic direction and inspire your team to perform their best.
  2. You identify at some level as an 'entrepreneur,' not scared of getting stuck into the business side of leading a division. You're driven by targets and have commercial acumen that translate both into your approach to research analysis, as well as setting the right course for your part of the business.
  3. You are a strategic research thinker; able to look at the process of research itself - and determine a vision on how the craft should evolve.
  4. You have knowledge of available research methods and a keen ability to distil and extract insights from qualitative and quantitative data.
  5. You have the natural ability to draw out a compelling 'story' behind the data and present it in an engaging and immersive way.
  6. You are an effective communicator; you have the confidence to communicate research findings across all organisational levels, both internally and externally.
  7. You have the confidence to deliver presentations to senior industry leaders.
  8. You are a connector and relationship builder whatever your approach; you're naturally charismatic and can maintain real connections with people. You bring an existing network within pharma.
  9. You're excited about new technology and innovation - you love to experiment with new tools to improve what you do.

Requirements:

  1. An understanding of the life sciences and/or the pharmaceutical landscape and a view on where and how the industry needs to change.
  2. Uncommon and exceptional attention to detail.
  3. Ability to prioritise tasks and work towards deadlines.
  4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team.
  5. A collaborative nature; you enjoy bouncing ideas off others.
  6. The self-awareness of knowing when to ask for help and support.
  7. Confidence to inspire a team to perform at their best, being an empathetic and nurturing leader at all times.
  8. A capacity to challenge assumptions and offer solutions.
  9. Strong business acumen; you instinctively spot strategic opportunities.
  10. Incredible multitasker capabilities; you're a natural organiser who enjoys the variety that comes with juggling multiple projects.

Benefits:

We're all aiming to strike the right work-life balance. You'll get together regularly with the UK-based members of our team - while still having the flexibility to work remotely. Ultimately, we care more about outcomes than output. We want you to get the job done in the way that works for you. Craving some sun during winter? You'll be free to work from wherever you're most productive.

Your personal development is our collective future success. In addition to dedicated regular time to progressing your career goals, we also offer 'study leave' for bigger requests - our senior leadership team are here to offer support and guidance for your development.

We're a friendly bunch at Impatient and overcompensate for our lack of office with extra get-togethers. We'll make sure you get the face time to form connections with the wider team.

We care deeply about our employee's well-being and that's why we offer mental health support through a partner mental health service which lets you speak to a therapist anytime you need.

We also provide a stipend of £750 a year for wellness, which can be used towards professional development, self-care, or an experience that takes you somewhere new. We also provide extra funds for simply going to visit other members of the team.
