About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Act Administrator to join our team at the Farndon Unit, a purpose-built low secure hospital offering personalized assessment and recovery-based treatment pathways for women with complex care needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with external authorities to arrange, process, and document information related to patient admission, referrals, discharges, and renewals.
  • Verify all legal documentation in relation to patient detention under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended November 2007), including section paper, section renewals, rights, and consent to treatment.
  • Maintain patients' clinical records in accordance with Elysium Healthcare procedures, ensuring timely and efficient input of valid information.
  • Produce audits as requested by the Administration Manager and MHA Admin Advisor.
  • Supervise the work within the Mental Health Act Admin Department.
  • Generate statistics for the database for Local Health Authorities, the Mental Health Act Commission, and other statutory bodies.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience in administration or office systems.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Confidence in setting up video conferencing meetings.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended November 2007) and associated legislation.
  • Ability to remain calm and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Initiative to plan and prioritize workload.
