Job Description:

The Senior Emergency Practitioner will work in an autonomous capacity within the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's Emergency Department and Medical Division. The role involves a 24-hour clinical care rota to ensure safe and high-quality patient care.

The post holder is responsible for assessing, investigating, treating, and either referring or discharging patients presenting with minor injuries and illnesses across various age spans (adults and pediatrics).

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work as an independent practitioner in urgent and unscheduled care, directing and delivering patient-focused services within Gloucester and Cheltenham EDs and the 'Nurse Led Service' at Cheltenham General Hospital at night.
Key Requirements:
  • Active registration with the NMC or HCPC as an RN Adult/Pediatric, Paramedic, or Physiotherapist.
  • United Kingdom recognized Degree in Minor Injury &/or Illness or Advancing Practice in Clinical Assessment, Reasoning, and Differential Diagnosis for Urgent, Emergency, and Primary Care Practitioners.
  • Non-Medical Independent & Supplementary Prescribing.
  • Immediate Life Support.
