We're seeking an experienced Senior Private Sector Housing Officer to join one of our progressive local authority clients. This exciting interim opportunity offers the chance to take on a junior management role, directly contributing to improving housing standards across the borough.

**Job Description**
The Senior Private Sector Housing Officer will lead investigations into poor housing conditions, substandard HMOs, and breaches of housing legislation. Key responsibilities include:
• Leading complex cases, managing team members, and driving key projects to deliver impactful outcomes for residents and landlords
• Supervising and mentoring apprentices, students, and contract workers, fostering a culture of learning and professional development within the team
• Ensuring compliance with the Housing Act 2004, HMO licensing schemes, and Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation Regulations
• Engaging with residents and landlords, providing advice on housing standards, energy efficiency, and legal compliance
• Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver joined-up enforcement initiatives and improve housing outcomes

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you'll need to demonstrate expertise in housing enforcement, property inspections, and applying housing legislation to complex cases. You should also have proven ability to supervise and mentor staff, manage workloads effectively, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

A strong commitment to delivering inclusive services that address housing inequalities and support vulnerable residents is essential. Additionally, experience using housing and case management systems, such as Uniform, is highly desirable.

**Benefits**
This role comes with a competitive salary of £45,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience. You'll also enjoy excellent benefits, including pension scheme, life insurance, and opportunities for professional development.
