Energy Efficiency Project Manager

About the Role:
Hurtwood is a leading engineering and energy consultancy company seeking an experienced Building Management Systems (BMS) Project Manager to join our team. As a BMS Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the refurbishment of BMS systems across various sites, including the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. Your primary objective will be to optimize the new BMS systems to reduce energy consumption, potentially by up to £1 million.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the refurbishment of BMS systems across multiple sites, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Collaborate with Hurtwood's director, Kevin Williams, to conduct surveys of existing BMS installations and gather data on energy consumption.
- Assist with consultancy efforts, including gathering user perceptions of building control and energy use, and obtaining policy and strategy documents from organizations.
- Produce reports on the condition of existing installations and specifications for upgrade work.
- Update electrical panel drawings and engineer graphical interfaces for everyday users within the Niagara framework.
- Assist with networking requirements for new BMS systems and provide training on this.
- Analyze energy performance data to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to reduce energy consumption.
- Manage and mentor graduates and undergraduates on our apprenticeship schemes to develop their skills in BMS and building services.
Requirements:
We are seeking an individual with pre-existing experience in building services and BMS who is looking to step up to the next professional level. Full training, coaching, and mentoring will be provided in the skills required to operate at this level. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and an understanding of electrical drawing packages are essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also required, as you will be working with various stakeholders, including clients and colleagues.
