Electrical Maintenance Opportunity at HMYOI Wetherby

Your new company, Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join their team at HMYOI Wetherby. This exciting opportunity involves working within the prison service, providing electrical maintenance and support to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned and preventative electrical maintenance to ensure the safety and efficiency of the prison's electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and replace failed domestic electrical components, ensuring all works are carried out under the appropriate Safe System of Work.
  • Respond to breakdowns, completing tasks in a timely manner and adhering to IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Actively fault find and problem solve on domestic electrical systems across the prison.
  • Undertake electrical installation activities in accordance with design provided and IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Test and inspect electrical installations, ensuring compliance with current IEE wiring regulations.
  • Monitor and order critical spares for all electrical services.
Requirements:
  • Appropriate technical qualification, such as City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, or NVQ level 2 or above.
  • BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition.
  • Prison Security Clearance (Hays will support you through this process).
  • Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution, and installation and testing.
  • Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
  • Ability to work at heights and independently, using initiative.
