Maintenance Electrician

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at HMYOI Wetherby. As the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service, we are committed to providing high-quality maintenance services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of the prison's electrical systems.
- Diagnose and replace failed domestic electrical components, ensuring all works are carried out under the appropriate Safe System of Work.
- Respond to breakdowns and conduct fault-finding and problem-solving activities on domestic electrical systems.
- Undertake electrical installation activities in accordance with design specifications and IET Wiring Regulations.
- Test and inspect electrical installations to ensure compliance with current IEE wiring regulations.
- Monitor and order critical spares for all electrical services.
- Appropriate technical qualifications, such as City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, or NVQ level 2 or above.
- Knowledge and experience of electrical systems, electricity at work regulations, and IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
- Prison Security Clearance (Hays will support you through this process).
- Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution, and installation.
- Ability to work at heights and independently, using initiative to resolve issues.
