Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate care assistant to support an individual with complex needs in the Fulwood area of Preston.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join our team at Gray Healthcare, where you will be working closely with a lady who requires 2:1 support 24 hours a day due to her diagnosis of Paranoid Schizophrenia, EUPD, and Learning Disabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a good sense of humour, be non-judgmental, and possess skills in supporting individuals with challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support to the individual, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Assist with daily activities, such as cooking, cleaning, and accessing community resources.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the individual, their family, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of person-centred care plans.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • A valid UK driving license (essential for this role).
  • Social care experience, preferably within mental health, with a focus on supporting individuals with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work flexibly, including waking night shifts.
  • Current Right to Work in the UK and a minimum of 6 months' employment history in the UK.
  • An enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
