Job Title: Site Manager

About the Job:

Our client, a well-established and rapidly expanding construction company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Manager to oversee operations and coordinate the installation of a large construction project in the Burton on Trent area. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high levels of Health & Safety, client service, timely execution, and installation quality to achieve maximum client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Management: Oversee the on-site construction process, ensuring smooth operations.
  2. Health & Safety: Take full responsibility for Health & Safety on-site, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  3. Site Inductions: Conduct site inductions to inform workers of site-specific rules and safety protocols.
  4. Contractor Relations: Foster strong working relationships between all contractors to ensure effective collaboration.
  5. Work Schedules: Arrange and manage work schedules to ensure timely project progression.
  6. Hands-On Involvement: Participate in construction work as needed to support the team.
  7. Toolbox Talks: Conduct daily toolbox talks to address safety issues and site updates.
  8. Accountability: Be accountable for the project's progress and outcomes.
  9. Health & Safety Culture: Drive and uphold the company's Health & Safety culture across the site.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Site Manager, with a proven track record in managing construction sites.
  2. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification is essential.
  3. Telehandler qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
  4. Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and schedules efficiently.
  5. Strong leadership skills to direct and motivate the team, making quick and effective decisions.
  6. Ability to communicate clearly and report effectively, both orally and in writing.
  7. Strong problem-solving abilities to handle challenges and obstacles promptly.
  8. Proficient in using IT tools and software for project management and reporting.
  9. Fully qualified driver with a valid driver's licence.

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will be based in the Burton on Trent area and will be required to work on-site, ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.
