The Commodities Contract Specialist will play a vital role in the success of Hartree Partners by ensuring the accurate and timely execution of front-to-back trade contracts processes for a range of physical and financial commodities products. This includes generating, preparing, and reviewing commodities contracts, reconciling trade details against trade tickets, counterparty contracts, and broker recaps, and analyzing and identifying contract terms that may place company and shareholders at risk.

As a key member of our team, the Commodities Contract Specialist will work closely with internal stakeholders such as Ops, Legal, Credit, Settlements, Traders, and Compliance to resolve identified risks and draft required changes. They will also ensure that terms of all contracts adhere to corporate risk policy and business standard.

The ideal candidate will have three to five years of knowledge and experience of front-to-back trade contracts processes for a range of physical and financial commodities products. A B.A. degree or equivalent in a business, finance, or energy-related field is also preferred. Strong MS Word and Excel skills are essential, along with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Sound decision-making skills are also a must.
