Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Your Teaching Ltd, an education recruitment agency based in Kent, is seeking a qualified and experienced Special Education Assistant to join a school in Canterbury.

Job Summary

This role involves working closely with students who require additional support to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development and be able to adapt their teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each student.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist students with their social and emotional development, including helping them to manage their behavior and build relationships with peers.
  2. Provide individualized support to help students access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals, including adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of each student.
  3. Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
Requirements
  • A minimum of experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with young people is essential.
  • A willingness to engage in professional development and training opportunities is required.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one is mandatory.
What We Offer

The estimated salary for this position is £28,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with competitive benefits and ongoing professional development opportunities.
