Senior Staff Engineer Opportunity

Ocho has established itself as a top-tier talent supplier in the tech industry, boasting an impressive track record of successful placements. Our collaboration with this esteemed client has led to the placement of 11 Senior and Staff-level engineers, all of whom have been integral to the growth and development of their cutting-edge tech team.

This prominent company is renowned for its commitment to employee growth and well-being. They foster an environment where individuals can thrive and pursue their career goals. We are currently seeking exceptional Senior or Staff Software Engineers (backend) to join their team and contribute to the evolution of their next-generation platform. The focus will be on designing scalable, performant, and customer-centric architecture using AWS, Kubernetes, Python, Kafka, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Kinesis. While experience with these technologies is preferred, applicants with production-scale experience in alternative technology stacks (such as Go, Java, TypeScript, Scala, C#, etc.) are encouraged to apply and discuss potential transition opportunities.

The successful candidate will become part of an Agile cross-functional team consisting of Engineering, Product, and Design experts. This structure enables swift delivery of valuable features and functionalities for the next-gen platform. Key responsibilities include collaborating with Engineers to construct and maintain a cloud-native event ingestion and processing architecture built on AWS. These systems serve IoT and SaaS customers, offering analytics, real-time alerting, and logistics capabilities. The team plays a pivotal role at the intersection of high-volume message ingestion, hardware deployment logistics, and Research & Development. Responsibilities also include developing integrations for upcoming hardware deployment generations, ensuring high availability and consistent processing performance.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and delivering services and domains powering the platform, shaping foundational features and capabilities. You will demonstrate technical leadership by setting an example within your team/domain and across the organization. Your expertise will influence the technical direction of product and platform domains, utilizing top-tier languages, frameworks, and technologies. Collaboration with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers will involve taking concepts from ideation to implementation, balancing rapid code deployment with accuracy. Additionally, you will play a key role in enhancing our team culture, striving to leave a positive impact and streamline workflow. Providing support, coaching, and mentoring to Engineers in the team is also a critical aspect of this position.

Key Qualifications:
Proficiency in a high-order object-oriented language (especially Python, but also open to Go, Java, Scala, C#, etc.).
• Over 7 years of relevant development experience in building production-grade solutions.
• Focus on delivery, with solid exposure to event-driven architectures and high-volume data processing.
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines for production services.
• Familiarity with public cloud service platforms.
• Previous collaboration with remote teams spanning different time zones.
• Demonstrated ability to swiftly learn new technologies and apply that knowledge.

Desirable Skills:
Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes.
• Practical production knowledge of service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with streaming technologies (e.g., AWS Kinesis, Kafka, etc.).

What We Offer:
This secure role offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package, including $150,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience. Ours is a flexible work arrangement, allowing you to balance your personal life while working remotely. Furthermore, we offer profit-sharing opportunities, providing a tangible incentive for your hard work and dedication.
