Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Support Teaching Assistant in Redruth. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with Social Emotional Mental Health needs.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £23,000 per year (approximate), which includes a 12.07% statutory holiday pay contribution. As a valued member of our team, you will also have access to FREE child protection and prevent duty training, as well as full assistance with enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.

About the Role

As a Mental Health Support Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with leadership and class teachers to support small groups of pupils in and outside of the classroom. You will be responsible for providing individualized support to students, helping them develop life skills and academic achievement.

This is a full-time role, with the option to go permanent after an initial settling-in period. The ideal candidate will have transferable skills from backgrounds working with children, such as experience in youth work, healthcare, or education. A minimum of GCSE C or above for maths and English (or equivalent) is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with Social Emotional Mental Health needs in a small group setting
  • Work collaboratively with leadership and class teachers to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Help students develop life skills and academic achievement through one-to-one and small group support
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • A minimum of GCSE C or above for maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Transferable skills from backgrounds working with children
