Job Title: Higher Learning Support Specialist

Location: London

We are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic primary school in London. As a Higher Learning Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students across various year groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects, and lead classes independently when required.
  • Provide tailored support to individual students and small groups, particularly those with additional learning needs or requiring extra academic assistance.
  • Help develop and implement differentiated learning materials and interventions to ensure all students can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to track student progress and provide detailed feedback on their achievements and areas for development.
  • Assist in classroom management, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Contribute to the planning and organization of school activities, events, and trips as required.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or significant experience working in a similar role within a school setting.
  • Proven experience supporting students in a primary school environment, with the ability to lead whole classes confidently.
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and ability to assist in lesson planning and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning, with a commitment to supporting student development.
