Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Utah State University is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs and modifications to campus equipment and facilities to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in repairs or modifications to University equipment or property according to requirements prioritized by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, air and water systems.
- Complete preventative maintenance routines and take corrective action as needed.
- Responsible for University-wide maintenance requirements, report or recommend needed steps or take necessary action in emergencies.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations as per OSHA and University standards.
- Must be dependable and reliable.
- Must be willing to actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Must be willing to work as part of a team.
- Must be able to work required overtime as needed.

Working Conditions
The position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting (50 pounds) and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects. Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions such as crawling, kneeling, and squatting. Additionally, the work environment can include confined or narrow spaces. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.
