Principal Examiner - GCSE German

Job Summary

The Principal Examiner will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of our assessment processes, working closely with our team of examiners and moderators to maintain the highest standards of assessment delivery. This is a key role that requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of the GCSE German curriculum and assessment requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development and implementation of assessment strategies and procedures to ensure the quality and consistency of our assessment processes.
  2. Work closely with our team of examiners and moderators to maintain the highest standards of assessment delivery, ensuring that all assessment materials are accurate, reliable, and free from bias.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with our centres and stakeholders, providing guidance and support to ensure that our assessment processes meet their needs.
  4. Contribute to the development of our assessment materials, including question papers, mark schemes, and examiner reports.
  5. Participate in standardisation and moderation activities to ensure that our assessment processes are fair, valid, and reliable.
  6. Provide feedback and guidance to our examiners and moderators to improve their performance and ensure that our assessment processes meet the highest standards.
  7. Collaborate with our subject matter experts to develop and maintain our assessment materials, ensuring that they are accurate, reliable, and relevant to the needs of our centres and stakeholders.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience in assessment and quality assurance, with a strong understanding of the GCSE German curriculum and assessment requirements.
  2. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with our team of examiners and moderators.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues related to assessment delivery.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  5. Knowledge of regulatory compliance and requirements, with the ability to ensure that our assessment processes meet the highest standards of quality and integrity.
