Examiner Role

As an Examiner for Pearson, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of our examination processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mark candidates' responses in accordance with our pre-defined mark scheme, adhering to conditions of recognition and examination procedures.
  2. Utilize our ePEN system to mark scripts online from the comfort of your own home, or work with paper scripts sent through the post.
  3. Collaborate with your Team Leader to ensure milestones for marking are met and all administration is completed as specified.

Requirements:

  1. Hold one year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years, relevant to the subject being examined.
  2. Hold a degree or equivalent qualification.
  3. Be a qualified teacher with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  4. Demonstrate a high level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme effectively.

Additional Information:

The marking period typically takes place between May and July, with training required to mark as an examiner occurring between May and June.
