About the Role

Search is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our client's team on a power-based civil engineering project in the Central Belt of Scotland. As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing the design process for design and build contracts, acting as the primary contact for design teams, clients, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the design process for design and build contracts, ensuring compliance with specifications and client requirements.
  • Coordinate design and project information supplied to the construction team, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
  • Advise on strategy and cost-effectiveness of various methods of construction, providing recommendations to the project team.
  • Liaise with Local Authorities, Building Control, and Planning Departments to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage design output to agreed-upon programs, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of civil engineering experience in a design role for a Main Contractor or consultancy.
  • Good working knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and self-management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, self-disciplined, organized, and motivated individual with a passion for delivering high-quality designs.
