About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Adult Advanced Practitioner to join our team at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients in the Emergency Department, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to improve patient care and safety.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of education and training programs for staff, ensuring that our team has the skills and knowledge needed to provide excellent patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, using data and evidence to drive improvements in patient care and service delivery.
  • Work closely with our leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans for the Emergency Department, ensuring that our services are aligned with the Trust's overall goals and objectives.
Person Specification
  • Professional Registration with either NMC, GPhC or HCPC.
  • Possession of 1st degree in a clinical field e.g., Nursing, physiotherapy at a minimum 2:2 classification.
  • Non-Medical Prescribing (v300) if appropriate to registered profession/role.
  • Significant post qualification experience [minimum 4 years] in a relevant clinical field.
  • Evidence of continued professional development following MSc completion.
  • Evidence of recent teaching, mentorship, and supervision of staff.
  • Evidence of quality improvement methodology and audit experience.
  • Understand, encourage, and support clinical supervision.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and risk assessment/management.
  • Computer skills (i.e., for radiology, pathology, microbiology ordering as per Trust protocols, utilising patient systems).
